International. Bitzer announced that it is expanding its product portfolio and acquires the shell and tube heat exchanger segment of Alfa Laval SpA, a company based in Alonte, in northern Italy.
From the beginning of May, Bitzer will be the largest independent manufacturer in the shell and tube heat exchanger market worldwide. The contract between Bitzer Italia and Alfa Laval SpA was signed in Milan. "I am delighted to be able to welcome the Bitzer family to the Alfa Laval shell and tube heat exchangers," says Gianni Parlanti, director of sales and marketing. The products acquired by Alfa Laval are designed for air conditioning and refrigeration applications and, therefore, will expand Bitzer's product portfolio.
Bitzer has been producing condensers for freshwater and marine applications since the 1950 decade. "With this acquisition, we expanded our portfolio, since Alonte's evaporator technology complements our existing product range."
